I know that God is greater,
but I also know that sometimes I think I am.
I know that fresh fruits and vegetables are good for me,
but, goodness gracious, I also know that I crave ice cream and chocolate daily.
I know that my choices turn out best when I wait on God.
I also know that some of my deepest regrets occurred when I acted before He answered.
I believe that fresh figs are one of God’s finest treats,
and I know that when I close my eyes, I can savor them even more.
I know that I can do anything with God,
but I also know that there are times I don’t think I can do much of anything.
I know that being a grandma has awakened my spirit anew and brought me unthinkable joy and life.
Yet I also know that being a mom has kept me awake at night with worry and regret over all the things I should have done better.
However, because I believe in God’s grace, I know that it’s His mercy that helps me get back to sleep.
I am relieved to know that God is greater.
I am also glad to know that tomorrow I can put some fresh fruit on my ice cream as I revel, with eyes closed, in His amazing grace.
