Free?! Goodness gracious! Sometimes “free” isn’t as free as we thought. Oftentimes there is a catch – a pricey one, at that!

Secondly, you may wonder what you need to do to receive this gift. Some believe that receiving this gift requires you to be “good enough.” However, none of us actually deserve this gift, yet God graciously offers it to us through faith in Jesus Christ. 

I love the way the Bible says it, “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. 

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood… 

… He makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus” (Romans 3:22-25a and 26b NLT).

Furthermore, such a gracious offering from the Lord God should break our hearts to the point of repenting of our sins. In fact, the last part of Romans 2:4 tells us, “God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance” (NLT).

Finally, in answer to the final question about whether or not it is a gift worth receiving, well, that part is up to you. I, personally, can tell you that it is absolutely, positively worth receiving the gift of eternal life from the Lord Jesus Christ! He has walked with me and guided me through so much in my life!

The moment you repent and believe that Jesus, the Son of God, shed His blood on the cross for your sins so that you can spend eternity — ETERNITY with Him in heaven where He is alive and seated at the right hand of God, and you accept Him as Lord and Savior, your life will forever be changed for the better.

Life may not become a bed of roses, but His Holy Spirit will be with you leading you, helping you, comforting you, and encouraging you regardless of what you go through. There’s nothing like it! And that’s just this side of eternity because just wait! There’s more!
