“He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ — which is to fulfill his own good plan. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ — everything in heaven and on earth.” (Ephesians 1:7-1 NLT)
Shortly after I wrote my previous blog, I came across the above verse. Don’t you love when the Lord leads you to scripture that reiterates and expands on a previous prompting you encountered while reading His Word. It is absolute truth that the Word of God is alive! The Bible breathes new life into our souls, and when it does, it is breathtaking and exhilarating! We have the privilege of inhaling the depth of His exhaled words and then exhaling His revival within us into the lives of those around us. Goodness gracious! That’s worth encountering!
Anyway, back to the aforementioned scripture and my previous blog. As I had mentioned, “God knew before creating humans that He wanted us to have free will. He also knew we would inherently disobey Him.” For this reason, as the verse states, “He is so rich in kindness and grace” (Ephesians 1:7), that he needed to create something like the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to “reveal to us his mysterious will regarding Christ — which is to fulfill his own good plan.” (Ephesians 1:9)
See, not only has God showered upon us His kindness. He also showered us with His wisdom and His understanding. His understanding! No one understands us like He does; therefore, He has always had a plan for our immoral free will. That plan is meant to provide us with freedom from the death that sin brings despite our sinful nature.
That freedom took place when Jesus died on the cross for or sins. God raised Him from the dead, and Jesus Christ is still alive today. Galatians 1:4 tells us that, “Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.” (Emphasis mine.)
Always KNOW that the within the abounding love of God in creating us, comes the free will to love Him back. This free-will-design comes with the gift of a grace that is greater than we can fathom, a grace that provides us with the ultimate freedom.
With free will came the plan of freedom!
